Okay, my next few posts will be out of order. I will make sure to mark them all with the date. So we decide(Mike and I) to go to Maine because none of us have been there before. Mike and I are excited, while Ashley and Carly are acting like we are sending the to brat boot camp for the summer. Seriously, the faces on these kids. We were only going for 3 days!! When we arrive in Ogunquit, the weather is beautiful, about 80 degrees, plenty of sunshine and no humidity. So we pay $10.00 to park and walk down to Perkins Cove, this little shopping, eating, fishing area. The girls refuse to come with us and sit in the car (whatever). I fall in love with this cove. It is right on the water with tons of little shops. So we are there for about an hour and feel bad for the girls and go back to the car. We need to find a place to stay and drive around for about another 3 hours. Now the girls a really happy. So we find a Hamptons Inn to stay in. It is on the main road. I wasn't to happy about this. We might as well of been staying on the Milford Post road. All the little towns were so cute, but the hotels were soooo pricey and most of them had no vacancy. So we check in, rest, shower and go out to dinner. The next day we wake up to 65 degrees and no sun!! We decided to try to make the best of it and go back down to Ogunquit. We walk to the beach and believe it or not people are actually sun bathing and swimming. The girls and I decide to take a walk to the water and stick our feet in for a few seconds. Well, that is all any of us could do because the water was so cold, your feet were instantly painfully numb. We decide to have lunch at a restaurant on the beach and then go for a walk on the Marginal Way. Mike and I thought the walk was beautiful, the girls were not impressed. After the walk, we are back in Perkins Cove were I suggest we get some ice cream and do some people watching. No one is interested. They want to go back to the hotel. So after being bored at the hotel we go out again and let me tell you it is freezing. It was still March in Maine. We have a nice dinner and then walk around Kennebunkport. The girls are showing signs of happiness. I am happy because it seems like things are looking up. The next morning we wake up to the same weather. Now, Mike has had enough and says we are going home. The girls are jumping for joy and I am not! We did stop in Kittery to go outlet shopping on the way home, that kinda put me in a better mood. As soon as we crossed the border from Maine to New Hampshire and then Mass. it was 90 degrees and very humid. When we got home it was so hot!! I sat in the sun for a while trying to thaw from that horrible Maine weather.
